God Sees Me

Bible verse of the day

“Thou God seest me.”

— Genesis 16:13 (KJV)

What does this mean?

God sees you wherever you are. He knows when you are happy, when you are sad, when you are afraid, and when you need help. Even when nobody else notices what you are going through, you are never forgotten by God.

Today's devotional message for children

The devotional teaches us that God is always aware of what happens in our lives. He knows each person by name, understands our thoughts and intentions, and cares about us regardless of our position or circumstances.

My Life Today

Imagine that you are at school, playing with your friends, sitting alone, or lying in bed at night. You may sometimes feel that nobody understands you. But God knows you completely.

He sees the kind things you do when nobody is watching. He knows when you feel hurt, when you make a mistake, and when you need comfort. His presence can give us peace and remind us to choose what is right.God's care does not mean that nothing difficult will ever happen. It means we can turn to Him for comfort, wisdom, and strength through life's difficulties.

A story to help children understand

The Child Who Was Never Forgotten

One day, a little girl sat alone during recess. Her friends were playing together, but she felt sad because nobody had invited her to join them.

She looked around and wondered whether anyone had noticed her.

Then she remembered what she had learned from the Bible: God sees her and knows her by name.

She whispered a little prayer, asking God to help her feel better. Afterward, she decided to smile at another child who was also sitting alone.

The two children began talking and soon became friends.

The little girl realized something important: even when she felt lonely, God had not forgotten her. She could also share His kindness with someone else.

Lesson: God sees us, cares for us, and invites us to show His love to others.

What children can learn today

1. God knows me personally.

I am not forgotten or invisible to God. He knows my name and understands what I feel.

2. I can show God's love.

Because God cares for me, I can be kind, honest, helpful, and loving toward other people.

3. I can talk to God anytime.

Whether I am happy, worried, afraid, or thankful, I can pray and ask God for help.

Questions for discussion

Parents, teachers, or Sabbath School leaders can ask children:

  1. Who sees and knows everything about us?

  2. How does it make you feel to know that God knows your name?

  3. What can you do when you feel lonely or afraid?

  4. How can you show kindness to someone who feels left out?

  5. Does God's care mean we will never face difficulties? Why is it important to pray when difficulties come?

Suggested activity: Ask each child to draw a picture of one way God cares for them. Then have them name one kind thing they will do for someone else today.

Memory verse

“Thou God seest me.” — Genesis 16:13 (KJV)

Easy way to remember it: Have children repeat the verse three times, then ask them to explain in their own words what it means.

Prayer for children

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for knowing my name and loving me every day. Thank You for seeing me when I am happy and when I am sad. Help me remember that I am never forgotten by You.

Please protect and guide me. Help me make good choices, obey Your Word, and treat others with kindness. When I feel afraid or lonely, remind me to pray and trust You.

Thank You for caring for me and for giving me opportunities to share Your love with others.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
