Waiting Quietly on the Lord

Weekly Scripture:
Psalm 62:5–8

"My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."

Meditation

In a world filled with constant noise and endless distractions, God invites us to pause and wait quietly in His presence. Waiting on the Lord is not passive—it is an act of faith. It is choosing to trust that God is working even when we cannot yet see the outcome.

David declared that his expectation came from God alone. He did not place his hope in people, wealth, or circumstances. Instead, he found security in the Lord, who is our Rock, our Salvation, and our Refuge.

Perhaps you are waiting for an answered prayer, a new opportunity, healing, or direction. Psalm 62 reminds us that God's timing is always perfect. He never forgets His children, and He never abandons those who place their trust in Him.

Today, bring every burden before the Lord. Pour out your heart honestly in prayer, then rest in the assurance that He hears you. The God who has been faithful in the past will remain faithful today and forever.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Teach me to wait patiently and confidently on You. Help me to trust Your perfect timing when I cannot understand what You are doing. You are my Rock, my Salvation, and my Refuge. Quiet my anxious thoughts and strengthen my faith as I rest in Your promises. May my hope remain firmly anchored in You each day.
